I read all the info on the site about getting wet and bringing a change of clothes, so I was prepared and was okay with getting drenched. The reason I gave it 1 star is because as our boat was headed into the rapids for the first time our guide told us to hold on and "put your chin in the air like Queen Elizabeth." Well, stupidly, I did. I ended up coughing and choking after a power jet of water to the face almost drowned me. I should have been ducking for cover. Why I listened to her, I don't know. I seriously could not breathe for a while...Read More

We embarked from the Lewiston, NY location. The ride was a lot of fun; we had a great time. However, they advertise changing rooms (which is a good thing, considering you get soaked). I was horrified to find that their idea of a "changing room" for men was one small 8x15 completely open room. The women's changing room on the other hand contained 6-7 curtained off changing areas. If you intend on changing in the men's area, you better be ready to strip in front of half a dozen other naked guys.

This was a real thrill. Doesn't matter where you sit...you will be hip deep in water. Price on the high side for a family but well worth it.

I seriously could not breathe for a while and I was stuck enduring the five or six more drenchings that followed. They asked the group to yell if they were having fun and I yelled "no" but no one paid attention.
They sell video of the ride - the cost is less if you buy it first, but it's only it's only about 2 minutes long.
The changing rooms are crowded and icky.
I'm writing this to help others have a more realistic understanding of these boat rides - I wish I had known better.
