About this activity

Jurassic Forest, located just north of Edmonton, is a truly unforgettable adventure! Tucked away in the thick boreal forests of Alberta, this outdoor park offered us the perfect mix of education and entertainment, captivating every member of the family from the youngest to the oldest.

As soon as you step through the gates, you will transported back to a time when dinosaurs ruled the Earth. The forest pathways were lined with life-sized dinosaur models that moved and roared, making us feel like real explorers discovering these ancient creatures in their natural habitat. The kids were absolutely thrilled, jumping with surprise and laughter every time a dinosaur roared from the bushes.

What really stood out were the interactive learning stations dotted along the trails. Each station was filled with interesting facts about the different dinosaurs we encountered, including their diets, habitats, and theories about their extinction. It was a joy to see the kids so engaged, rushing from one station to another, eager to press every button and read every piece of information.

The guided tour we joined was another highlight of our visit. Our tour guide was not only knowledgeable but also incredibly passionate about paleontology, which made the tour fascinating and fun. They answered all the questions our kids had, no matter how whimsical, bringing the story of these prehistoric giants to life with their enthusiasm.

One of the biggest hits of the day was the "dinosaur dig" area, where the kids got to play paleontologist. They dug through sand to find replica fossils, which was both fun and educational. This hands-on activity not only allowed them to learn more about dinosaur bones but also helped them burn off some of that endless energy.

We also tried our hand at the dinosaur-themed mini-golf course, which was a blast. The course was cleverly designed with dinosaur obstacles that challenged us and made for some playful competition. It was a great way to wind down after a day of walking and learning.

Jurassic Forest did a great job with its facilities too. Everything from the restrooms to the snack bar was clean and well-maintained, and the picnic areas offered beautiful spots to relax and take in the stunning forest scenery.

All in all, our day at Jurassic Forest was magical. It's a fantastic destination for families looking to immerse themselves in the world of dinosaurs in a fun and educational setting. We made some wonderful memories and left with a greater appreciation for these incredible creatures of the past. It's definitely a place we'd recommend for a family outing!
