These guys are horrible scam artists! In August I booked a cabin for 2 nights to attend a wedding in January, I only needed the cabin for a night, but was informed it is a minimum 2 night booking (which is supported by their website), the price was higher than listed on their website, but I paid it as I wanted to guarantee my accommodation. All was fine until my sister emailed them last night to enquire about also booking a cabin where she requested to book one next to mine, providing my name, and included a note that we were attending my mothers wedding. She was informed that it was a 3 day minimum, and I received an email (not even a phone call, an easily missed email!) that they now insisted I book for 3 nights instead of two (I suspect the word “Wedding” had dollar signs in their eyes), and they had booked me in for the 3rd night (at my expense), and pretended they were doing me a favour. I had entered a contract with them for 2 nights, they had told me over the phone that it was 2 nights, their website says it is 2 nights, and they didn’t even have the courtesy to call me! I called them and they told me that “It wasn’t fair” that my sister had to book 3 nights, and how do you think she would feel if I only had to book 2 (like their ripping her off was my fault!), and that they were not going to honour the original booking unless I booked for 3 nights. Sandi, the owner, was incredibly unhelpful and rude. I had to cancel my booking, and now have to rush to find accommodation in the area, which was readily available 3 months ago when I booked, but is not anymore. If you book with these guys, they demand a 50% upfront, but their word is worth nothing. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Christies Beach Tourist Park has a two day minimum booking (check the website 3/11/2014), unless you tell them you are staying for a wedding. When they hear that they will tell you that you must have a three day minimum, they will also make anyone who is associated with you, even if they have already booked two days, pay for an extra day. This happened today, on a booking that was made months ago. The people affected are most unimpressed. Beware holiday makers, you may find yourself out of pocket, or out in the rain.

I camped here in august 2012 hand i have to say the site itself is very tidy and modern, staff were friendly and all sites were powered with easy access to camping positions, all amenities were very clean and tidy as was the public kitchen area and the upkeep of the grounds. The best part was the 30 meter walk to the sands of the beach and seeing the sunset in the late afternoon was impressive, the overall cost was cheap and the closeness to shops in the main street just around the corner made things easier. All in all i would have to give this the best camping spot in “Adelaide south” if not all of Adelaide, also including Levi caravan park in Adelaide east CBD.
