Sombrero Ranches is where the whole family can enjoy amazing horseback trail rides in the Rocky Mountain National Park, and see some pretty incredible scenery at the same time!

Part of Hi-Country Stables, and located near the Moraine Park campground, kids can begin their adventure only 7 miles from Estes Park - the gateway to the Rocky Mountains. Sombrero Ranches offer a number of rides, from 2 hours to 8 hours, so whether you want a taste or a full day, you can find the perfect ride for you!

Kids as young as 2 years can even enjoy rides, so it really is a family experience! The 2 hour ride to Beaver Meadows is the best ride for the younger kids, and it's also one of the best places in Colorado to see herds of elk! It's great for beginners, as you will never go faster than a walk, and you get to take in the amazing views and wildlife along the way.

The slightly longer 3 hour ride goes into the mountain meadows, and the 4 hour ride will take you to the top of Beaver Mountain! With this exciting trail ride you can climb over 1,000ft to the top, and even see the Continental Divide. Perfect for kids over 6 years, and any experience level!

Don't forget about the 6 hour and 8 hour rides too! You really get to immerse yourself in the magic of the area, with waterfalls, lakes, inns, gorges, canyons, and a host of memories you will never forget!

No matter what ride you take, your knowledgeable guide will be with you the whole way, and there to help you get the most out of your experience. You really get to know the horses too, and after being paired with the perfect one for your age, size and experience level, by the end of the trip you know all of the personalities too!
