About this activity

Occasionally it's wonderful to just enjoy a family day out in beautiful nature (and in North Carolina there are plenty of options!)

One of the most popular is Dan Nicholas Park, and when you visit you will see why! This beautiful park offers a thrilling and diverse day out for the kids - and the parents! There is a huge range of activities that you can all enjoy together, and best of all, there is no entry charge, so you only pay for the activities you want to enjoy!

Are you ready to hear why Dan Nicholas Park is so popular (and here's a hint - it's SO much more than a park!)

There is an aquarium where you can explore what really happens underneath those waters, and meet the creatures that live there. Kids can have a hands-on experience with the barnyard where there are cute domestic creatures to pat, and there is amusement fun with the carousel for that old fashioned fun!

Have you ever mined for gems? You can at the Dan Nicholas Park! You never know what you might find!

The whole family can have fun with the mini golf, and kids can learn all about the area at the Nature Center.

Love the water? Great! Head on over to the paddle-boats where you can head out and enjoy the park from another point of view, or those locomotive loving kids can head to the train station. Choo Choo!

Let's not forget all about the amazing wildlife that can be found with the Dan Nicholas Park too.

We told you this North Carolina wonder is SO much more than a park! What will you explore first?
