Big Cypress in Florida has 729,000 acres of vast swamp that is home to a diverse range of wildlife and lots to do! Explore scenic drives, special events and lots of outdoor activities for the family to get involved in.

Explore the natural landscape in your own back yard! It's a play to play, relax and connect with nature. If you don't want to explore on your own, why not choose a ranger-led activity? Experience the beautiy of the swamp from seeing birds, to plant life and much more, you'll learn lots on your walk!

Why not experience the water on a kayak/canoe tour? Or enjoy a scenic route on a bike ride! The opportunities are endless.

There are two visitor centres which provide information and exhibits on the area.The Nathaniel Reed visitor centre is open daily and the Oasis Visitor Centre is open Friday to Sunday and both make for great starting points for your adventure.

In the centre you'll find lots of changing art exhibitions too, so make sure to check the website to see what's happening when you arrive!

There's lots of trails for all abilities, just make sure to check the weather conditions before you arrive and come prepared.

Directions

Take I-75 (Alligator Alley) South to Exit 80, SR-29.
Head south on SR-29 (towards Everglades City) 17 miles to where it intersects with US-41 (Tamiami Trail).
Turn Left onto US-41 southbound and proceed approximately two miles.
Nathaniel P. Reed Visitor Center will be on your right, on the south side of US-41 (Tamiami Trail).
