Wye Valley Butterfly Zoo is your chance to walk with the butterflies from all around the world! The centre is indoors and tropical and there's lots of colourful butterflies to enjoy.
You'll be able to see the butterflies at every stage of their life-cycle including as an agg, catterpillar and of course beautiful butterflies. The species they breed and have lots of survivival strategies too, and the zoo work really hard at conservation. There's not just butterflies to look at either!
There is also a Jubilee Maze nearby with a romantic temple at the centre and over a kilometre of hedges in total just next to the butterfly zoo. Find your way around and try not to get lost, but if you do, there is a viewing platform so you can call for directions!
As well as the maze, there is a miniature golf course set in the spectacular scenery of the Wye Valley. The design is a unique roman ruin theme and is suitable for all ages that love a challenge! You'll get the mini golf half price too if you purchase entry to the Butterfly Zoo!
At the Butterfly Zoo you'll also find a shop which has lots of gifts, plants and books on wildlife. They support sustainable butterfly farming worldwide too and they control their impact on global warming by heating the zoo with pelletised biomass and renewable fuel!
So if you are a fan of butterflies head down to the zoo to get up close and personal with them and watch the colours fly all around you!
Take the A40 between Ross-on-Wye and Monmouth. Exit the A40 at Whitchurch.
Turn south onto the B4164 towards Symonds Yat West for 100 yards.
At the roundabout take the B4164 south towards Symonds Yat West.
After 150 yards turn left into the car park.
