Visit Caldicot Castle in its beautiful setting of tranquil gardens and a wooded country park. It was developed in royal hands as a stronghold to the Middle Ages and restored as a Victorian family home, it has lots of history to uncover!
On your visit you'll find out about its past, explore the towers and take in the views of the parklands and surrounding areas. You'll travel through time and discover what went on in castle life and how it was restored.
At the park, you'll see the River Nedern which winds itself around and see the wildlife pond, home to a variety of different species! In the courtyard there is a 12 pounder muzzle-loading HMS Foudroyant's cannon and don't forget to see the mysteries of the castle dungeon too! It is said to be haunted!
The park itself spreads across 55 acres and there's lots of open parks and woodlands to explore and run about it. Why not have a game of hide and seek!
Relax in the tea room and pick up a snack or treat yourself to something in the gift shop, Don't forget to check the website as they have lots of regular events happening here all year round.
