About this activity

Stonebridge City Farm is an urban farm in the heart of Nottingham. You can come along to feed and pet their animals; they have an exciting variety of cows, sheep, ponies, goats, birds, chicken and geese, pigs, barn animals, and meerkats! And of course, Kevin, their 17 year old tortoise! Learn lots of new things about these cute animals and get invovled yourself with looking after them.

They are also very proud of their gardens at the farm. No matter what time of year there are plenty of plants, flowers and vegetables to have a look at. Take a stroll around the beds and planters and you will spot all sorts of fruits, crops and blooms! They have several polytunnels, sheds and green houses which are jammed packed full of everything we need to keep their gardens bountiful, and you can purchase any garden produce, together with jars of honey and farm eggs, for sale in their farm shop.

As if all this wasn't enough, they also have a large play area for your little ones to enjoy! You can see the playground as soon you arrive on the farm. This really is a great area for children to play outside and let off steam, and for families to socialise and enjoy a snack or meal from their café or their own picnic. If you feel inspired after your visit they even offer special events with great activities for the kids; for a great reason to visit them again, check out bookable activities on their website like pond dipping.

Directions

The easiest way to reach them by car is to head for Carlton Road (the B686) and turn onto St. Matthias Road (on the left if you’re coming from town), then left onto Stonebridge Road and on for a couple of hundred metres.
By Bus: Take the 25 or 27 from town; once you pass the Ice Stadium and get on to Carton Road, a park will come up on your right (King Edward’s Park); once past the park, ring the bell and you should get off the bus just before the turning to St. Mathias Road. Go left on to St. Matthias, left again on to Stonebridge Road, and keep going until you see the trees. The main entrance is just past those trees.
If you’re feeling adventurous, the 39 will drop you off on Robin Hood Street at the other end of Stonebridge Road: the park to look for this time is Victoria Park, on the left!
