About this activity

Nottingham Castle has over 1,000 years of history, ready to be explored. You'll discover the thrilling tales of Robin Hood and rebellion, explore historic caves and meander around the art collections and exhibitions.

Inside the Ducal Palance is where you'll find the museums and galleries to inspire you and tell you about the history of Nottingham. You'll see the craft gallery, museum and art collections and the robin hood adventure which contains interactive and immersive displays.

Discover how lace was made in Nottingham, and see the first ever machine too. Go back in time to explore issues around protest and rebellion that impacted Nottingham Castle and imagine yourself as Robin Hood through some interactive games.

You can start your visit at the visitor centre and the staff will assist you with everything you need. You'll find a shop and a cafe here too if you need a bite to eat.

The grounds are also great wander round on a summers day. They have lots of events on year round, so make sure to check the website before you visit so you know what's happening!
