Tudor World is a great living history museum located right in the centre of the iconic Stratford upon Avon, all set within an historic 16th century Grade II building!
At this family friendly museum, kids can discover the secret lives of the Tudors, and learn all about what life was really like during the times of historic figures such as William Shakespeare, Sir Francis Drake, Queen Elizabeth I, and Henry VIII!
Of course, you can learn what life was like for everyday people too!
What's also great about Tudor World is that the museum is run and owned by husband and wife team, as well as a dedicated team of part-time actors and enthusiasts, so you know you're in great hands!
The Tudor World museum is suitable for all ages, but you might wish to warn younger kids that there are figures in some of the exhibits that might be a little ominous to them as they are there to enhance the experience and atmospheric lighting.
There are lots of interactive elements within Tudor World that are always popular with the kids! They can find touchscreens, videos, Tudpr smells to try, a feast to sit at, and even a throne to regally perch upon!
They can even take part in a written witch trial, or go in the stocks! Others might like or try their hand at quill writing in the school room!
Tudor World also offer a Shakespeare Tour, as well as a Ghost Tour!
The Ghot Tour relates the history and the ghostly occurrences which have taken place within the actual building and all around Stratford upon Avon! This is suitable for the older children.

The museum is situated along Sheep Street in a big Tudor building. Go under the arch and along the cobbled stoned courtyard to find the entrance.
The build is a 2-minute walk from the Royal Shakespeare Company.
Leave the M40 at junction 15 and take the A46 to Stratford upon Avon following onto A439, around the one way system and left onto waterside and take first right onto Sheep Street.

They don't have a cafe, however Sheep Street (and Stratford) is full of eateries of all sorts!
The Ghost Tour takes around 1 hour (times may vary from guide to guide). Make sure you arrive 10 minutes early. They don't recommend children under 14 years old on the tour.
The school programme is suitable for KS2/3 and has a variety of ‘days’ to choose from: The Tudor Day (which cover all aspects of Tudor life), the Shakespeare Day and the Crime & Punishment Day. Students can enjoy it for £10 per student!
The museum is very old (more than 400 years) with low beams, uneven floors and stairs. The tour is by the light of a lantern. For this reason it may not suitable for those with mobility problems, impaired vision or those that are claustrophobic or nervous.
Dogs are not permitted.
Whilst it is a small museum, there are many interactive elements to become involved in. Visits can be anything from 10 minutes to 1 hour. They therefore estimate the average visit as 20-30 minutes.
