About The Lightbox
The Lightbox in Woking is a museum that tells the story of Woking. Whether you're passionate about the arts or history, there's plenty of activities to get involved in and lots to see and learn!
There are four galleries in total, hosting a range of exhibitions that change regularly. So, it's best to check the website to see what's coming up before you visit!
The museum also hosts a number of talks and tours both in-person and digitally on a wide range of subjects, with plenty of time for questions too! You can also join a member of staff for a behind-the scenes tour of one of the exhibitions!
There's also plenty of workshops too where all ages can be artistic! Take part in creating finger puppets, learn to create animal art, flipbooks, puppets and so much more! There's something for all ages.
On your arrival, make sure to pick up a sensory bag which will help with any sensory needs whilst walking around the galleries. On the second floor, there's also lots of space to make and play or just sit and read a book. They have two trails that take your around the ehritage of Woking too which you can pick up from the museum, or download before you arrive.

The Lightbox gift shop sells a variety of unique handmade jewellery and greetings cards, fun books, eco-friendly gifts, creative kits and cuddly toys.

The Lightbox has been running award-winning learning and engagement programmes since 1997.
Is The Lightbox fully accessible?
The courtyard and entrances have level access; there are accessible toilets on both the Ground and First floor, and there is a lift that goes to all floors of the building. The Lightbox is fully accessible for wheelchair users.
