Clandon Park has a house and garden to explore with all the family. You can explore the fire-damaged house on a pre-booked guided tour during the summer and enjoy the tranquil garden.
Following a fire in 2015, Clandon Park is now a modern ruin. Even though a project is underway to restore it, you can still venture inside and explore the open space around it.
The gardens are open every day from early March until the end of October and it's a great place to relax! You can see the lily pond and the historic grotto and there's a wooden playground for children to run about in!
Special walkways have been built amongst the ruins to get a glimpse of what it looks like inside. The expert tour guides will take you on a walk through the spaces and explore inside. You'll discover how the house was made and how the fire has opened up spaces.
The basement walkway leads you deep underground which runs through the heart of the building and you can see the contract levels of fire damage in the different areas of the house.
There is a salvaged collection on display that was rescued after the fire, including a glass chandelier and a set of porcelain Chinese gods.
