The Great Cockcrow Railway is set in a rural location not far from Chertsey and the M25. The railway is one of a kind and operates just like the main line railays of the 50s and 60s. No matter your age, it's a great family day out!
When you arrive, simply buy your tickets from the office! You'll have a choice of the red or green route. The red route leaves Hardwick and goes to Cockrow Hill where the train stops for the engine to run round. On your way back the train takes you an extra loop to bring your along the jungle line.
The green route is a non-stop run over the level crossing, round the lower car park and up to Cockrow Hill and back. Both routes are about one mile in length and they both go through the tunnel.
The steam locomotives are just like the full size versions, needing coal, fire and water to make the steam! Watch out for the wildlife along the way too!
You'll get views of the woodlands and parklands all around and don't forge to waves at the other trains too! If you want to find out more about the trains, then just ask the drive and remember to take lots of pictures!
Take junction 11 from the M25 and head for A320 signposted for Woking. At first roundabout turn right, signposted Chertsey. Take the 3rd exit at the next roundabout, St Peter's Hospital will be on your left. At the next mini roundabout turn left B386 Windlesham then first right into Hardwick Lane. Brown tourist signs from this point.
