About this activity

The London Museum of Water & Steam is a great destination for families looking for a fun and educational day out. Located in the beautiful and historic town of Brentford, just a short distance from central London.

A great destination for families with children of all ages. For babies, the museum offers a step-free route so that they can ride in their strollers, plenty of stimulation with a variety of large and small objects to look at, and changing tables in every bathroom.

Toddlers will enjoy the museum's fun ramp, various spaces with different toys to play with, the outdoor Splash Zone with water play features, and the Chill Out Zone with a train set, Duplo, books, and bean bags. Kids will love discovering how the museum's pumping engines work with hands-on exhibits, searching for the man doing a poo outside one of the little houses, playing in the Splash Zone and Wild Play Garden, and climbing to the top of the massive engines.

For parents, the museum offers plenty to keep the whole family happy, a spare box with nappies and clothes in case of emergencies, something for all generations to enjoy, and the peace of mind that comes with knowing that the museum's engines are tough and can withstand sticky fingers.

One of the most unique features of the museum is the opportunity to take a ride on the museum's steam-powered boat, which operates on the River Thames during the summer months. The boat, which is powered by a steam engine built in 1892, offers a unique and enjoyable way to explore the river and learn more about the history of steam power.

Overall, the museum is a truly one-of-a-kind attraction that offers something for everyone. Whether you're interested in history, engineering, or simply want to have a fun and educational day out, the museum is a must-see destination for families wanting a fun and educational day out.
