East Somerset Railway is in the village of Cranmore and you'll be able to take a relaxing ride on the heritage steam trains. It's a great day out whether you're a train enthusiast or just simply want something fun to do with the whole family!
The train journey takes around 35 minutes and is a five mile round trip, and you're welcome to ride as many times as you to like on your visit! You'll also be able to visit the engine shed and workshop and see some of the restoration work in progress.
You'll also be able to visit the refurbished museum, waiting room and ticket office and visit the David Shepherd Discovery Centre on the second platform which celebrates the history of the railway.
At the end of the line, you can walk through the Mendip countryside using the footpaths and get great views across the countryside. You'll see plenty of wildlife along the way too.
There's grassy areas for picnics, children's play area and a miniature railway to make your visit extra special and give the kids a chance to run around!
They have lots of seasonal events year round, so make sure to check out the website before you visit so you know what's happening.
