It's time for an art-tastic day in Bath at the Victoria Art Gallery! This iconic and historic gallery offers free admission to its permanent collection, with various exhibitions throughout the year that you can enjoy at a small cost.
The permanent collection is impressive in itself! You can explore over 1,500 decorative art treasures on display, from oil paintings, to watercolours, prints, cermanics, sculptures, and glass - dating from the 15th century right through to modern day. You'll see works from masters including Thomas Gainsborough, Thomas Jones Barker and Walter Sickert.
The building in itself is incredible impressive to see, designed back in 1897 and today a Grade II listed building. Keep an eye out for the statue of Queen Victoria! In fact, the gallery was named to celebrate this special Queen who spent 60 years on the throne.
Also at the Victoria Art Gallery are family activities so kids of all ages can appreciate the art and the experience! From activities everyone can participate in, to children's crafts, trails and more, it's so much. more than "just" looking at paintings. It's a complete family experience!
Via car, the quickest and most straightforward route if you are travelling from a distance is likely to be via the M5 and M4 approaching Bath from the north.
It's also easy to visit on foot, as the Victoria Art Gallery is right in the centre of Bath, near Pulteney Bridge.

They welcome all disabled visitors and others with access needs. Level access is via the ramped entrance on Bridge Street. A lift is available with space for one wheelchair at a time.
