About this activity

The Helicopter Museum is an award-winning museum and holds over 100 Rotary wing aircrafts gathered from all across the world, representing a range of technologies! It's a great place to visit with the whole family, especially if you love helicopters! 

The museum is the largest dedicated Helicopter Collection in the world, and there's over 80 exhibits on display, all undercover, so you can visit no matter the weather! The collection ranges from civilian and military helicopters, and they all highlight the developments over the years. 

There are a number of engine bays, video displays and more that help visitors learn about the role helicopters play in our lives. You can explore the stories of the Queen's Flight helicpter, Westland Lynx or the Belgian Antarctic. 

The museum is spend over a singe fllor, and there's four main buildings in total. Don't forget to ask te staff some questions as they'll be happy to help! 

The museum holds many events all year round, so make sure to check the website before you visit so you know what's happening!

The Helicopter Museum FAQ’s

Fully serviced café is open during normal museum opening hours serving a selection of pastries, sandwiches, hot and cold meals, drinks, snacks and ice creams.

Gift shop in the entrance area has a wide selection of souvenirs from a range of books, models, prints, gifts, clothes, toys and pocket-money souvenirs to suit any budget.

Visits by Schools, Scouting, Guiding and Cadet Forces are always popular and they can organise tailored activity days working with teachers to create a special day

The museum is a mobility friendly attraction with all parts of the museum fully wheelchair accessible with ramps where required
