The Sunset Zoo is very beautiful lots of trees and plants and flowers. There are many opportunities to interact with the animals which I wasn’t expecting! There are a smaller amount of animals than I am used, because I am from Omaha, Nebraska and we have one of the largest zoos in the nation(the Henry Doorly Zoo). I was pleasantly surprised though. The small clawed otters were very sweet and fun to watch. The kookaburra and the new bob cat kitten Millie were my personal favorites. We were able to walk around for close to three hours and we weren’t bored at all. You are able to get very close to the kangaroos as well as the prairie dogs. They have quite a few animals that we do not have at the Henry Doorly Zoo,red pandas, a hyena, maned wolves and chimpanzees!!! It was very quiet and not a lot of people around, we went on a Thursday afternoon. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at the Sunset Zoo! It was clean and the staff was friendly. I highly recommend going to this zoo!

The Sunset Zoo is a really nice small zoo. There aren’t a ton of animals to see, but the zoo itself is beautiful to just walk. I spent about 2 hours there just walking, looking at the animals and enjoying myself (great views of Manhattan). I would recommend this for anyone who wants something to do for a nice afternoon out. It won’t consume your day but you have the option of going through at your own pace. The admission is very reasonable at only $4 for an adult ticket.
