Where are we going today?
Did you know how great your country really is? From crazy to life changing inventions, fascinating ways of life, exploration to allow people to move and settle creating the land we live in today...it's all a part of the American history, and a part of you.
The Miracle of America has interesting exhibits on, well...just that! The Miracle of America. It's a great museum for kids to expore and get really hands on with some of the displays, and really great for their imagination. They can play teacher and student in a real school room - how does it differ from yours today? They can play in a real helicopter and run around real airplanes, looking at them close up, as well as getting hands on with a steam engine!
What did you do to get yourself into trouble now!? No wait, you're just in the pretend jail! Phew! The museum is probably the only place you can escape jail and run straight into a space ship hidden in area 51. What can you see in there?
The museum also hold educational and fun Live History Days, which occur on the 3rd weekend in July. This event offers some fascinating opportunities to watch real craftsmen try their hand at tasks those from years before would have used in their everyday lives, such as spinning and blacksmithery.
Time for a photo op? Good idea! Lets see what we have...will a fighter jet do?
The museum is caters for kids of all ages to ensure they have appropriate learning opportunities for each age group.
Make sure you allow enough time to look at over 150,000 objects across 40 buildings...we did tell you it was the largest museum in Montana!
How much does it cost?
- Adults$6 (ages 12 and up)
- Children$2 (ages 2 - 12)
- Free Under: 2
When can we go?
Summer hours 8am to 8pm
Open all year round but a good idea to double check during winter months
If you have a specific interest, period in time or a key person in American history, the museum can tailor a lecture specific for your needs. A great hands on learning experience. .
Any Top Tips?
Bring your camera! There are many photo opportunities which you won't want to miss out on. Also, if you are bringing a stroller or wheelchair, its worth noting the outside is gravely so wide wheels might work better..
Need a little extra help?
Regular sized wheelchairs and walkers are available for free at the museum if needed. Some buildings have ramps, but some in Pioneer Village have 1 -3 steps so please ask for assistance upon arrival. . Restrooms are wheelchair accessible. .
There are baby changing facilities in the womens restrooms..
Can I get one of those?
There are a range of fun toys, fascinating books and some beautiful glassware and jewelry available to purchase at the museum. .

This is a wonderful, exciting place to learn about the history of the local community, Montana, and our world. By far the best museum I have experienced. Approx 40 outbuildings with different things to see, including a huge array of motorcycles, boats, planes, tractors, and cars. This is a must-see if you're coming through Polson, Montana and with low entry fees, the whole family and friends can be a part of it!
