About this activity

If you love horses and the great outdoors, then you are in for a treat!

Located in the stunning countryside of Idaho, Rider Ranch have shared their beautiful ranch with guests for over 20 years. Here, kids as young as 8 years can meet their gentle horses before headed out onto the stunning mountainous trail rides.

There are two horseback rides you can choose from at Rider Ranch. The Pleasure Ride allows you to escape into a quieter world as you make your way through the fresh pine-scented air.

Kids, keep your eyes peeled and see how many different wild flowers you can spot! If you're lucky you might also spot some white tail deer and wild turkey too.

The ride lasts between 60 and 90 minutes, but of course you are more than welcome to stay longer and enjoy homemade refreshments!

The other ride at Rider Ranch that you can enjoy is the Evening Dinner Ride. Make your way through the tranquil mountain trails for around 60 minutes, then at mountain meadow you will meet the iconic chuckwagon and tuck into steaks, coffee, and homemade bread. Delicious!

Top it off with baked potatoes, cowboy baked beans and even Dutch oven-cooked dessert, and you have yourselves a great cowboy experience!

In addition to the rides, keep an eye out for the Family Barn Night event, offered one night per week in summer. Great for any age, you can enjoy horse-drawn hayrides through the meadows, and spend time around the campfire. Beautiful!

With birthday parties too, it's all about getting out of the city and taking in the fresh mountain air with gentle, adorable horses as your new friends.

Let's get riding!

Directions

The Ranch is located approximately 20 minutes from Coeur d'Alene.
Traveling on I-90, about 8 miles east of Coeur d'Alene, turn off on Exit 22.
Go left across the overpass and then turn right at the stop sign (just past the end of the overpass).
Go 8/10's of a mile and turn left onto Wolf Lodge Creek Road (this road hides behind a rock bluff, so watch
your odometer!.) Go just at 1 mile (along the side of a field, across the top of it) then on your left as you come up the hill there will be a house (with medium brown wood siding), turn left as though you were going to that house.
As you turn there, you will also see a log barn up across a small field. That barn is your destination.
