You have to take this as your child’s first experience preforming on stage. Especially if they are young. The end play is a little corny and pushed along but you have to remember that they only get to practice at the most 5 days. Many only 4. It was a good experience for small children to learn how to be loud and dramatic and in front of a crowed. The larger more important roles are given to older high schoolers. Which is understandable since they have to have there lines down and ready in a day or two. I had a 10 year old that loved it. She had maybe 6 lines but learned how to say them loud and with expression. I had a 7 year old that thought it was fun but was done by the end of the week. He does say he would do it again next year. I also had a 5 year old who didn’t make the cut and was upset about it. But I see that to as a growing experience as well. She wants to try again next year and will be bigger and better. The audition itself was certainly beneficial to her. So, don’t expect the world but was worth the week of our lives.

We are beyond fortunate to have this organization in Missoula. The Community Theater productions are top notch, and the Children’s Theatre affords every child the opportunity to make friends and get up on stage. The summer camps for pre-teens and teens are terrific and well run, too. Bravo to MCT!

There has been a truck with this name on it in our neighborhood all day hopping from house to house. I live in northern California. I am completely baffled as to how this works and why they would be here at 9:30 at night. Any suggestions?

My child signed up for this program specifically because the paperwork said you would learn about the workings of putting on a play, staging, costumes and directing. She signed up to be assistant director and spent the whole week sitting in the audience doing NOTHING. Well, that isn’t exactly true she got to take the small kids to the bathroom once a day and make sure they left the bathroom. She did not learn one thing about how a production is put on. Sorry I signed up and will never recommend the program to anyone.
