In my opinion, one of the best resorts in Northern California for winter sports and lodging. It's easy to assume that Heavenly got its name from the endless blue skies and smooth, seamless white landscape that makes you feel like you've discovered a realm made entirely of clouds. If snowing and skiing aren't your thing, Reno's casinos are pretty close. During the off-peak season, the resort has a lot of fun water activities around the lake. Whether in winter, spring or summer, go to Heavenly if you get the chance.

The Mountain was a nice place to snowboard.

My situation was one where the experience was not good. First, 110 bucks a day. Way too much for 6 hours of actual ski time. The first day we were there there was only on lift open until 1pm and the mountain opened late. Guess what, still full price. Then, to eat lunch, way to expensive for crappy food. $50 for not much food and it was not good. 12 bucks for a bowl of chili, really that is a rip off.

Next if you want to bring a lunch, which we did the second day, its 8 dollars for a locker...Read More

A huge resort with fantastic views of Lake Tahoe. Summer time rides on the Gondola are a treat for out of town visitors. Winter time great terrain to ski on both California and Nevada sides. Make sure you bring your credit card to pay for the over $100 ski lift ticket!

I should really do 2 reviews on Heavenly, one for the management and one for the mountain. As a previous employee, I think the management staff did me wrong, and more than one time. I'll leave it at that. The mountain is nice and wide open, with great views and the option to ski in Nevada and California and stay in the sun. Try other areas also. For super friendly staff and good skiing try Sierra-at-Tahoe. For hardcore skiing try Kirkwood!

Everything is geared to screw you on every which way. Veil bought heavenly mountain recently and jacked the prices way up. So if you save and save and plan to go on a ski trip for a decent cost, think again. Once everything was running and open the hill was great. But do not expect to ski from 9am to 4pm like you should be able to. Figure 10am to 3pm cause thats about all you get.
