The Civic Auditorium in downtown Carson City has been the home of the Children's Museum of Northern Nevada since 1994, and it's STILL giving kids a fun day of learning and play!
Throughout the museum, you'll find a number of stimulating "hands-on" learning environments for kids ages 1 and up. All of the exhibits are aligned with Nevada State teaching standards, and based around arts, sciences and humanities, so get ready kids, you're about to see that learning CAN be fun!
All of the exhibits within the museum inspire and offer something new and unique. Kids might go through the motions of an old mining sluice, just like the miners of the old west! They not only learn about the history, but also the geology of Northern Nevada AND about all the minerals!
Kids might want to experience the reproduction of an old school room, where they can see first hand what school life was like over 100 years ago. We bet it's pretty different than your schooling today!
The museum also has an interactive area where open-ended and imaginative problem solving activities encourage kids to think outside the box, AND there is also a STEM room, filling the day with science, technology, engineering and math learning!
For that creative fun, the Children's Museum of Northern Nevada has an Art Room open every weekends from 1pm - 3pm with hands-on art activities for all ages, or they might want to enjoy Storytime that takes place twice a week, where stories are paired with art related activities!
It's hands-on learning galore for in Nevada, where kids can explore, play and discover until their heart's content!
We are located at 813 N. Carson Street in downtown Carson. (Carson Street is also Hwy 395.)

Great for all ages, holding a birthday party at the museum not only lets kids celebrate in their own party room, but they get admission to the museum too!
Bring that pocket money because the gift shop is always adding new items relating to their exhibits! Kids can take the learning fun home with them!
Just give them a call to ask about the accessibility of the museum, they will be happy to help!
