The Museum's eighteen-acre waterfront campus, hosts ten exhibit buildings and vistas of the beautiful Miles River. Situated right in the heart of the St. Michaels harbor, you'll find real waterman, restaurants, specialty stores and other attractions all within walking distance to the Museum. While on campus, begin your tour in our working boat yard, where skipjack and other restoration projects take place. Next climb a real 1879 lighthouse, explore how we play on the Bay, check out the cool boats in our Small Boat Shed, pull up an eel at Waterman's Wharf, climb a skipjack in Oystering on the Bay, visit the Waterfowling and Bay History buildings while you are here. You can also enroll your kids in an after school activity or sailing class, plus a whole lot more.
The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum inspires an understanding of and appreciation for the rich maritime heritage of the Chesapeake Bay and its tidal reaches, together with the artifacts, cultures and connections between this place and its people.

You are welcome to enjoy a picnic lunch on our campus. You can pick up sandwiches on your way into town at Graul's Market, Acme or Lighty's Market.
