What is there to do?

The Science Museum of Virginia is filled with cool things for the family to do, and you could be next!

The goal of the Science Museum of Virginia is to inspire Virginians to enrich their lives through science. (Kids - did you know that science actually IS fun?)

This is a place where you can go to get inspired, to spark curiosity, and to generate new ideas in those STEM subjects of science, technology, engineering and math.

The fun starts in front of the building with a 29-ton globe floating on water. Walk right up to it and give it a push – yes you can move the earth!

The Museum is filled with hundreds of experiential exhibits, awe-inspiring artifacts, and interactive technologies. It's dynamic science at its finest!

Kids can also learn through the permanent exhibits on a number of exciting topics such as health, space, electricity and the Earth.

Have you ever seen a rat play basketball? Game on!

Let's not forget about those interactive science labs, where you can design a structure that protects eggs from a two-story drop, or explore the characteristics of magnets.

Don't miss the visiting exhibitions from all over the world. This means you can always go back and see something new!

Want to hear something REALLY cool about the Science Museum of Virginia? Well, the Dome theater is the LARGEST screen in the entire state! Just sit back and enjoy the immersive experience right in front of you. It's pretty spectacular!

From robots, satellites, renewable energy, and even owls, there is something for all inquisitive kids at this great hands-on museum where learning through discovery is just your average day!
