York River Charters primarily operates from the scenic York River in Virginia, a major tributary of the Chesapeake Bay. We offer our guests both fishing and sightseeing charters. We are the only fishing charter contracted to dock at beautiful Riverwalk Landing on the historic Yorktown waterfront.
Experience all that our local waters have to offer from the well equipped Catchin’ Up. She’s a pilot house sport fishing boat with state-of-the-art electronics. Catchin’ Up gives Captain Alan the ability to easily guide your party into a secluded creek or tranquil flat, as well as safely dash you out into the deeper waters of the Chesapeake Bay!
Catchin’ Up presents our guests the opportunity to have a truly personalized experience on the water. For you, this may mean tailoring a fishing charter combining some bottom fishing for croaker, spot or flounder with an equal amount of time spent live baiting for mighty cobia or trolling for striped bass (rockfish or stripers), bluefish or Spanish mackerel. Some folks enjoy fishing for speckled trout and red drum (redfish) on light tackle along the flats. For others it may mean an intimate sunset cruise topped off by a river view dining experience in Yorktown.
You may want to learn a little of the rich history of the area and get an introduction to some of it’s aquatic inhabitants by chartering a sightseeing or pleasure excursion. Or, you may prefer to cast lures for rockfish or spotted seatrout. Either way your Captain’s unique prospective and knowledge of the region are sure to give you reason to join us many times in the future and become yet another lifelong river friend.
York River Charters‘ goal is to provide our guests the prospect of “having it their way” for a change. So come on down, kick off your sandals and let us show you, your loved ones and close friends what time on the rivah’ is really all about!
