We LOVE art, and that's why we love the Mobile Museum of Art where you can enjoy over 6,400 artworks throughout your visit!

Formerly known as the Mobile Art Gallery, the Mobile Museum of Art's collection allows families and kids to see that art is so much more than drawings and paintings.

Art can be on paper, and craftwork. Art can be decorative or sculptured.

Today, the Mobile Museum of Art is the only accredited art museum in south Alabama, and started with 14,000sq ft of space in the city's largest green space of Langan Park, before expanding into the fun art-filled family day out you can enjoy today!

The permanent collections that you can experience include American, European, African and Asian art. Kids can study the colors, shapes and textures across the sculptures, prints, drawings and decorate art, with highlights including 19th century American landscapes!

You never know what might just inspire them!

Only a handful of the museum's 6,400 object collection is on view at any one time, so they have created rotating exhibits that ensure you can see something new on every visit!

What's also great about the Mobile Museum of Art is that they continue to serve the community. They offer programs and outreach activities such as on-site classes, and even a "Pop-Up Musuem" installation in downtown Mobile.

Directions

From I-65, take the Springhill Avenue Exit (Exit 5) and head west on Springhill Avenue. Go approximately 1 1/2 miles and turn left on John D. New Street (traffic signal). Take an immediate right onto Museum Drive. The Museum is the first building on the right.

Mobile Museum of Art FAQ’s

The Art Store has a selection of snacks and coffee, but they do not have full service dining at the museum

Guests who book a timed ticket for FOR CHILDREN will have the option to add General Admission to their visit upon arrival at the Museum at a reduced admission rate of $3 per person and children under 6 are free!

The Art Store is open during our regular Museum hours where you can pick up some great gifts and educational items!

The Museum School is busy year-round providing new, creative opportunities to learn about art, because art is vital to a well-rounded education. Through Museum staples like themed school tours, programs, and art classes for both kids and adults, The Museum School is dedicated to serving the Mobile community and beyond.

They offer classes for adults too, who are feeling creative!
