Big Lagoon State Park is 704 upland acres of beautiful outdoor adventure waiting for YOU! This popular Florida destination separates the mainland from Perdido Key and the Gulf of Mexico. It's filled with a host of beautiful ecosystems, ranging from saltwater tidal marshes, to pine flatwoods, all of which attract a host of birds. Visit during the spring and fall migrations, then you might see a even more variety than usual!

Did you know that Big Lagoon State Park is a gateway site for the Great Florida Birding Trail? It's also the start of the Florida Circumnavigational Saltwater Paddling Trail, which actually extends around the entire state!

There are intracoastal beaches, as well as shallow bays, a host of nature trails to explore and scrubby flatwoods, all of which offer amazing opportunities for nature studies.
