Additional Information

The Cog Railway Depot is located just outside of downtown Manitou Springs. Several of our passengers love taking the train ride early in the morning so they can walk around Manitou Springs in the afternoon and have lunch or visit several of the local shops!

Any top tips?

The trip is 3 1/2 hours round trip, so be sure to make sure you have time for the trip! It is generally 30 degrees cooler on the Summit so dress accordingly! Bring water to drink on the train so the altitude doesn't effect you too much...but be careful, there are no restrooms on the train.

I'm Hungry!

The Cog Wheel Cafe is located near the loading gates on the platform. They offer all sorts of delicious foods including hamburgers, brats, thai chicken wraps, and even spiced nuts!

Can I get one of those?

The Steamer Stop Shop is located near the loading gates on the platform. If you want an inexpensive souvenir to remember your train trip, or you forgot your sweatshirt for the cold temperatures up top, the Steamer Stop Shop has what you need!
