About this activity

Ready for some of the great outdoors for your family day out? You are...let's head to Aurora Reservoir then!

Aurora Reservoir is one of the city's largest parks, which includes 800 acres of water surface! Boating is welcome on the water, and there are plenty of other activities for you to enjoy too, such as fishing (it was actually voted the Best Park For Fishing back in 2012!)

If you are feeling a little more adventurous, Aurora Reservoir is actually a great spot to enjoy SCUBA diving...who knew!?

From Memorial Day to late September you can also enjoy the swim beach, which is perfect for having a splash about to cool off on those warmer days, or you can rent some boats and get out onto the water if you don't have your own.

Just steps from the beach is the AWQUA Lounge for you to learn all about the amazing journey that water takes in order to reach your taps at home. Even a day out in nature can be educational!

If you prefer dry land, Aurora Reservoir is the perfect place to head out on a walk, or perhaps a run, or grab those bikes and spend some time cycling - you never know what wildlife you might spot on the way!

The plethora of picnic areas really allow you to make a day of it, by bringing your own lunch and enjoying it under the sun as a family - you will have some pretty amazing views too!

The great outdoors really is great at Aurora Reservoir! Don't forget those water bottles!
