Guess what! Did you know that if you are looking for a family adventure, you don't have to just look ABOVE ground?
Cave of the Winds in Colorado is an underground adventure you won't be forgetting in a while. Not only are there tours to take you through these natural wonders, but there are also rides and attractions to top off your family day out. That's pretty cool!
But first, the tours! These family friendly tours will let you investigate incredible cave formations whilst you learn all about the history of them.
Cave of the Winds were discovered all the way back in 1881, and there are three exciting tours that you can choose from.
The Discovery Tour is ideal for families, and the most popular tour on offer. You will be taken through nearly a mile of caverns, including some impressive sights such as the Temple of Silence and the Bridal Chamber.
Don't forget to duck under Fat Man's Misery! A special part of the tour is when you will experience total darkness!
The Lantern Tour will take you on a historic and rugged cave journey where you will re-live the thrilling experience of those early explorers. You see, your tour will only be lit by lanterns!
If you aren't afraid to get yourself a bit dirty, the Caving 101 tour lets you explore undeveloped sections of the caves, and it involves crawling with a flashlight!
But, we did also say that Cave of the Winds is more than just a cave! You can brave a ride that sits on the edge of a 200 foot cliff, or navigate a challenging course on the rim of the 600 foot deep Williams Canyon.
Now THAT sounds like you need your brave hat on!
