Welcome to our rug tufting studio! We provide all the materials, supplies, and equipment you need to make your very own personal rug. Rug tufting is a unique and creative way to create custom rugs, pillows, art pieces, and clothing. It involves using a tufting gun to create loops of yarn through a backing fabric.

At Happy Strings Studio in Worcester, MA we help you create one-of-a-kind, custom-tufted rugs that reflect your personal style and taste. We offer five standard-size frames of your choosing. For larger projects or group reservations please contact us for more details!

During your visit, you will learn how to use a tufting gun and how to transfer your design/drawing onto a canvas. We provide over 70 different colors of yarn for all your tufting needs.

Finally, leave it to us to do the finishing touches on your rug. We will seal the yarn, apply the final backing and tidy up all the loose ends. You can pick up your rug 3 business days later or we can ship it to your house for a flat shipping charge.

Tufting a rug involves using a tufting gun to create loops of yarn through a backing fabric¹. To tuft a rug you need to choose your design, stretch the primary tufting cloth on a frame, transfer the design to the tufting cloth, feed the yarn through the tufting gun, start tufting, add more colors, cut the rug from the frame, add the backing, trim the fibers and vacuum the rug. Tufted rugs are handmade and can be customized according to personal style and taste.
