About Greensboro Science Center

Ready to explore a zoo, museum AND an aquarium all in the one place, and for the one price? Welcome to Greensboro Science Center!

Located in the beautiful Greensboro, it's here kids can explore a host of exhibits and real life wildlife that will fascinate, educate and excite!

A visit to the indoor aquarium allows kids to come face to face with some of their favorite aquatic creatures, including charismatic penguins, lovable otters, jellyfish, colorful fish and yes, even sharks!

They can even enjoy hands-on fun with the touch tank as they feel what a sting ray or a small shark feels like! Don't miss the daily feedings too, to really add to the learning experience!

Head outside for more wildlife fun at the Greensboro Science Center zoo! Kids can see crocodiles sunning themselves, gibbons playing across their exhibit, and even meerkats standing guard!

The interactive fun continues with a visit to the petting zoo where kids can pet goats, sheep and other adorable barnyard animals. They can learn all about life on the farm too as they play in the farmhouse, and watch NC crops grow from seed to harvest!

Did we mention there is also a super fun treetop adventure park at the science center too? If you are feeling brave, why not give it a try?

Then, you have the museum itself. Here, kids can explore exhibits that showcase a range of topics, including the weather, the human body, and yes, dinosaurs!

The Greensboro Science Center's conservation mission is to preserve species and habitats through on-site programs, community awareness, field studies and fundraising for local and global conservation efforts.

Do they have baby facilities?

Changing tables are available in all restrooms. Nursing mothers are welcome and may request a private area if desired. There are wagons to rent too from the front desk

I’m Hungry! Can I get food at Greensboro Science Center?

Those tummies can be filled at the on-site Meerkat Cafe!

Any top tips when visiting?

When you arrive, check the daily feeding times for the animals, as well as any shows at the theater so you can plan your day around them!

Does Greensboro Science Center have a gift shop?

There is a gift shop where you can pick up some great merchandise and gifts to take home! They also have educational items too! Yes, it's called the TriceraShop!

Teachers corner

Field trip opportunities, spring workshops and outdoor programmes are available. Teachers also get a discount in the shop.
