Want to know something pretty amazing about the Bronx Zoo? It's actually the world's LARGEST urban zoo! That's quite an accomplishment!
If you have a family who loves animals, you're in for a treat! The zoo features more than 600 species from all around the world. There are fish, reptiles, insects, birds and of course mammals. That also means it's a great experience for kids to come face to face with some pretty amazing animals, AND learn all about the biology, natural history, and most importantly their conservation status.
The whole family can feel like you are crossing the African Plains, with the amazing big cats as well as wild dogs and those popular creatures such as the wild dogs, zebras and giraffes.
Marvel at the grand American Bison, or watch in awe as you see a big grizzly bear walk in front of you. Kids can experience the beautiful animals of the Himalayas and Asia, or watch the playful creatures of Madagascar.
Jungleworld gives a wonderful and fascinating insight into those animals that all the jungle home, and of course - there are those creatures of the waters like the sea lions!
Kids - do you want to get REALLY up close to some of the sweet animals - maybe even pet them! The Children's Zoo is the perfect place to grab some grain and feed the sweet domestic animals by hand. Have you ever fed an alpaca or a goat? Now is your chance!
Bronx zoo isn't just the animals - it's experiences too! There are opportunities to check out the sea lions being fed, you can ride a fun a cute bug carousel, take a monorail through Asia or get on the back of a camel! Amazing!

There is a main restaurant all year round, with hot and cold dishes, as well as snacks. There are also seasonal cafes and food stands.

The total experience ticket gets you into the extra exhibits like butterfly garden, 4-D theatre and jungle world.

There are self-guided field trips, as well as tours and programs you can enjoy as part of your students educational and fun day out!

There are 265 acres of zoo, so it's actually to see the whole thing in one day! Allow about 2 hours just for the popular exhibits.
