Marwell Zoo in Winchester, England is the perfect day out for families. The zoo is home to over 200 species of animals, including tigers, snow leopards, rhinos, meerkats, hippos, zebras, and more.
There's plenty of fun to be had for all ages, with daily shows and events, a farm and children's playground, and extensive landscaped gardens to explore. Families can also explore Marwell’s charming formal garden, which includes a representation of three garden styles of the 16th and 17th centuries. Kids can go wild in the five adventure playgrounds, where they can let off steam by hopping, skipping and jumping their way around the park.
Visitors can also get up close to the wallabies as they wander through Wallaby Walkthrough. With an idyllic dwell area, water feature and natural seating, it’s the ideal spot to unwind and listen to the natural sounds of the Park.
The must-see final stop is the fabulous five adventure playgrounds, where your little monkeys can let off steam! By hopping, skipping and jumping their way around the park, they’ll be able to burn off all that energy.
When in Winchester, Marwell Zoo is easy to find. From the city centre, take the A31 southbound and follow the signs for Marwell Zoo. The zoo is well sign-posted from the A31 and is on the left-hand side of the road. There are plenty of free car parking spaces available on-site.
