Icarus Falconry have fascinating bird of prey experiences that run Monday to Thursday and require bookings. You can choose between the Hawk and Owl experience, the Falconry experience and the Eagle and Vulture experiences; learn about how to get them to fly to you and try it out for yourself!
From April to October they open the falconry centre and the wildlife menagerie along with the wonderful stately gardens of the historic Holdenby House! These days, open from 11am to 4pm, truly are a holistic day out for the whole family. The ticket price allows you to explore the beautiful historic gardens and grounds of the magnificent Holdenby House, steeped in history and palace and prison to King Charles I! So visit for family fun and the chance to learn something about Northampton's rich history.As you move through the various garden designs you’ll enter the falconry centre and meet close up their collection of around thirty birds of prey from tiny Burrowing owls to the magnificent Golden Eagle, all housed in immaculate enclosures! You can also take the pathway into their small orchard through into the British wildlife menagerie and meet Norma the hedgehog, Roxy the tame Fox, Neil and Neon the tame rats and many other examples of British wildlife such as Great Crested Newts and Britain’s rarest reptile the Smooth Snake! (captive bred of course).
As if that doesn't like enough of an adventure, they also put on four displays each day on the hour, starting at 12pm. Whether one of their birds of prey flying demonstrations, or wildlife animal encounters, each one will leave you spell bound and enthralled by the wonders of the natural world!

There are no food facilities on site but Holdenby House has a cafe open from April-November at weekends.
