About this activity
Abington Park is Northampton's oldest and most popular park! It sits on the site on a medieval village with some buildings surviving over seven centuries, so browse the interesting views with your family and find out about Northampton's rich history. It contains many exciting features including sports facilities like tennis courts, flower displays, and stunning lakes to discover, so there's plenty to see throughout the day. From cross trainers to air walkers and hip twisters, the park contains a trail of eight pieces of fitness apparatus for you to try and enjoy. There is a fitness trail of public equipment to follow and take part in, intended for over 7s, plus playground facilities like swings elsewhere for the younger crowd. Toilets and the cafe are situated on the south side of the park, next to the cafe and bowling greens.
Also, Abington Park museum is close nearby! It's situated in the picturesque building of a 500 year old Manor House. Go and browse the wonderful collections, ranging from domestic life in the town to military photographs!
