Salcey Forest is an oasis of nature and history close to the centre of Northamptonshire. The stunning woodland has many miles of old wood banks, building remains and trees. As well as their numerous stunning walking trails, Salcey Forest have a family cycling trail and a fun adventure play area! Feel free to visit the onsite café after your active fun to have delicious homemade meals and cakes in a warm, friendly atmosphere.
As if that wasn't enough, in 2023 Salcey Forest are opening a new visitor space called The Glade. As well as planting new trees, shrubs and wildflowers here, they plan to install a covered activity space and a new winding, all-ability path. But the best bit about this news is they plan to restore the popular Elephant Bridge, make a giant Gruffalo sculpture, and keep working with Go Ape to create a Tree Top Junior course. Salcey Forest can be reached from J15 on the M1 by following signs for Wooton and then Quinton. It lies directly to the east of Hartwell village.

Salcey Forest has a fantastic cafe which offers everything from soups and sandwiches to home-made quiche (and of course, ice creams). It's open 9.30am - 4pm on weekdays and 9am-4pm on weekends.
Most of the walking trails in Salcey Forest are buggy friendly, but if you want to go off road you might need wellies when it is wet.
