The story of Arundel Castle begins all the way back in 1067, and still continues to this present day - and YOU can be part of that history!
What's amazing about a visit to Arundel Castle is that many of the original features such as the Norman Keep, as well as the medieval Gatehouse and Barbican have all survived, so kids can really gain an understanding of what life would have been like all those centuries ago.
Between the 1870s and 1890s, the house at Arundel Castle was almost completely rebuilt and today, this magnificent architecture that can be seen in Gothic style is considered to be one of the great works of Victorian England!

Prams & pushchairs need to be left in the 'buggy park' on the lower ground floor at the main Duke Henry visitor entrance to the Castle building.
You can enjoy food at the castle! They have a Coffee Shop, as well as a Restaurant and Garden Tea Terrace, offering a range of sandwiches, drinks, cakes & muffins plus delicious scones and hot food options in the Restaurant.
On event days the Knights’ Table will serve delicious food & drinks in the grounds!
It's worth noting all the eateries have varying opening times/seasons/menus.
Keep an eye out for the incredible events they host, including Knights Days! So much fun for the family!
From sweets to jams, history books and Knight themed items for kids, the gift shop really does have an amazing selection of souvenirs you will want to take home!
With nearly 1,000 years of history to draw upon, students can explore the buildings and gardens, enquire about the people who lived here and how their lives might have been! These educational visits last around 3.5 to 4 hours, with an experienced guide to take you around and answer any questions!
