The story of Arundel Castle begins all the way back in 1067, and still continues to this present day - and YOU can be part of that history!
What's amazing about a visit to Arundel Castle is that many of the original features such as the Norman Keep, as well as the medieval Gatehouse and Barbican have all survived, so kids can really gain an understanding of what life would have been like all those centuries ago.
Between the 1870s and 1890s, the house at Arundel Castle was almost completely rebuilt and today, this magnificent architecture that can be seen in Gothic style is considered to be one of the great works of Victorian England!
During your time at Arundel Castle, the family can learn from the friendly guides who will be happy to tell you all about the finely preserved interior along with the fascinating furniture, tapestries and even a rare collection of paintings! These paintings are by world renowned artists including Van Dyck, and Canaletto, so even more of an invaluable education for the children!
Not only can you explore the castle, but you can also stroll through the tranquil grounds where you can discover beautiful gardens.
It's worth noting that the tickets can be purchased to enjoy access to the castle, gardens and bedrooms, or just the castle and gardens...or just the gardens!
It's a great way to get kids involved in historical events, learn about life in the past, and cheer on their champion knights!
Whilst you are visiting Arundel Castle, don't miss a chance to visit Arundel's historic town centre complete with museum, galleries, and more - only 500m from the main entrance!
