Where are we going today?

Since 1906 tourists by the thousands have enjoyed the scenic beauty of the world famous Dalles of the St. Croix River by excursion boat. Our fleet of excursion boats include the Taylors Falls Queen and the Taylors Falls Princess. The "Queen" is nearly 80 feet long, 20 feet wide and has two decks. The "Princess" can carry up to 250 guests. The "Queen" can hold up to 149.

Your licensed boat pilot and tour guide will point out the unique rock formations that were left behind as the glaciers retreated thousands of years ago. Among the most outstanding formation is the huge stone cross for which the St. Croix River was named. "St. Croix" means Holy Cross.

Other sites that can be seen from the boats include: the world's largest glacial kettles or "pot holes", Lion's Head, Turk's Head and the highlight of the boat tour, The Old Man of the Dalles - the most outstanding natural rock face you'll ever see.

Eagles and other wildlife are seen on 75%+ of boat trips. It is a great way to spend the day or the hour on the river.

My family and I made reservations for an 80-minute scenic boat tour on a Saturday. We had made the plans and reservations over a month prior. We were all very excited to spend a relaxing Saturday together until I received an email the day before stating "due to low water levels in the St. Croix River, we will be running a 45 minute trip that day." So, you just realized the water levels are low the day before our reserved slot? I don't think so. Fun tour. Crew was very nice. Great scenery... Made me want to go camping in the nearby state park.

I called the Taylors Falls Scenic Boat Tours and they once again stated that the water is low and only 45 minute tours would happen on Saturday, however I could change my reservation to Sunday and go for an 80 minute tour. Is the river going to magically fill in 24 hours? When asking them if the real reason is because they overbooked or the river is low she responded with "it's a little of both." It is a shame that I made reservations over a month ago and now my time is cut short because they are unable to competently take reservations. I will never purchase a ticket for this place again.
