Where are we going today?

The USA is an incredible country to have family adventures - there is just so much to explore!

New Mexico River Adventures are a family owned company which offers very fun, relaxing, and exciting rafting trips in the beautiful state of New Mexico!  The tours range from full days of whitewater rafting, 3 days trips for a bit more of a challenge, or a fun afternoon float with the kids - so there will be something for everyone!

For kids 13 years old and over, the Rio Grande Gorge Full Day trip is the most popular - and you can see why! It has it all, AND it's perfect for the whole family!

Make sure you keep an eye out for the wildlife along the banks - from mule deer, beavers to river otters! There are great sections of the river where you can practice paddling techniques, have a swim and just enjoy nature! You will even stop for a very tasty lunch on the side of the river!

But don't forget - it is whitewater! So there are 6 miles of the trip which are Class II and III rapids - but still great for beginners!

The other favorite, of course, is the relaxing family rafting with kids option! New Mexico Rafting Adventures have created the perfect adventure for those kids over 5. You can take half day or full day Rio Grande tours, and both of the trips offer Class II and III whitewater rapids which will excited the kids but not scare them. For those kids under 5, they have half and full day float trips without any rapids at all, so they really can accommodate the whole family!

Get out into nature with New Mexico River Adventures, and get that adventure into the whole family!

Family rafting April to September.

I'm Hungry!

Food is basic in life and good food in the outdoors is a must! They use local fresh foods and vegetables on all of the trips. On the trips which include food, they provide tasty southwestern style meals. Feel free to bring your own snacks to keep that energy up!.

Healthy Eating!

They can cater for vegan, vegetarian, gluten free...so just make sure you let them know if you have any dietary requirements! They also use healthy and fresh ingredients. .

Any Top Tips?

They do provide helmets but often it's a good idea to bring a baseball cap for added sun protection. You can also bring a waterproof camera - ideally with a strap to keep it secure. .

Can I get one of those?

You can buy photos and videos of your experience once you have finished! Great for showing all your friends. .

While planning our spring break vacation to Santa Fe, we decided to try out rafting. We loved the website of New Mexico River Adventures and decided to book a trip online- what a breeze. We were warmly met at their building by Matt and Wendy where they outfitted us with all the gear we would need for the day. Matt was our guide and he was great, very patient and fun with our kids as well as full of fascinating information about the history, geology, flora and fauna on the river. We are so glad we chose this company as they seem to be a far cut...Read More

In May, my family and I went on our first river adventure. Best experience ever! My girls were 12 and 9. I have never felt safer. The equipment was top notch. Our river guide, Wendy, was amazing. She obviously loves her job. Her knowledge of the river and the rich history of it was great. She brought the river to life and made it a great adventure for my family! Can't wait to return!

My wife and I took a road trip through New Mexico and rafting here was one of the highlights. The online reservation system was a breeze and included a confirmation email with very clear directions. The building looked brand new, with spotless bathrooms and clean changing areas. We booked the early morning run and expected to be part of a full boat. We couldn't have been happier when we arrived to find that we lucked out and it would just be the two of us and our guide Elias. We had both been rafting before as part of larger groups but never had...Read More

I've lived in NM for over a decade and had heard about white water rafting. Not considering myself to be an adrenaline junkie I was hesitant to try it. Just this last summer I had an opportunity to go with some friends who were so excited to give it a go. I decided to tag along and WHOA! I cannot say enough about what an amazing experience it was. NMRA helped me feel so at ease and well taken care of, safe. It was exciting and fun, but I really felt like I was in great hands on the river. They were timely, professional and so good at their jobs!...Read More

We had both been rafting before as part of larger groups but never had our very own guided run.

Elias was the perfect guide. He grew up on this river and had all kinds of good stories to tell us. He gave us tips on good technique and made sure we had fun. Halfway through the run we pulled off to the side for a break and a small picnic on the shore. At the biggest section of rapids they had a photographer set up and ready on the shore. They took such great photos of us that we decided to buy them. It took less than 5 minutes to throw the pictures on a CD for us to take home. I was impressed with the entire outing. It was polished from start to finish.

A great reminder of why I love living in NM!
