For a day surrounded by nature and beautiful wildlife, why not explore the Randall Davey Audubon Center & Sanctuary for your next family day out!

This beautiful escape is located in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and covers 135 acres of stunning landscapes and wildlife.

As you explore the sanctuary, you'll be surrounded by thousands of acres of impressive National Forest as well as Santa Fe River Watershed land. What's also special is that the Center and Sanctuary offer a peaceful sanctuary for native plants, along with a variety of local wildlife (and all who visit!)

Around 190 species of birds can be found in or over the various ecosystems of this sanctuary, ranging from the common, to the very rare!

Every year, the Randall Davey Audubon Center & Sanctuary introduce thousands of visitors to a world of history and nature, which is invaluable for children as they can better appreciate their role and responsibility within our natural world.

Also during your visit you can tour the gardens and get a better understanding of our native plant life. You might even want to tour the historic Randall Davey house and studio!

This historic property is impressively on the National Register of Historic Places, so plenty of history to learn too!

Directions

From St. Francis Drive (US 84/285), take Alameda east (towards the mountains). You will pass through several stoplights and 4-way stops, but keep going. Eventually you will come to a light at Paseo de Peralta. Go straight, the road turns more residential at this point, and the Santa Fe River is on your right. You will meet 4-way stops at Delgado Street and Palace Avenue, and then the road will curve sharply to the right and go over the river. At the next 4–way stop, which is the intersection with Upper Canyon Road, turn left. Follow this road until it ends—it dead-ends at our parking lot.

The last half mile is a curvy dirt road. You may feel like you are lost, but most likely you just haven't reached them yet.
