Where are we going today?

Art is SO much fun - not only to create, but to look at, and learn from, and be inspired by!

The Long Beach Museum of Art is waiting with it's many exhibitions to get those creative juices flowing!

The museum has a number of exhibitions, both permanent and changing (which means there is always something new for you to see!)

The exhibitions always cover a range of topics and art forms - because art isn't just painting! It can come in the form of textiles, or sculptures, or glass work, or stencilling.

Some of the exhibits in the past has included "Small Treasures" which includes rarely seen objects made from all sorts of materials, including glass, metal and wood.

There are exhibits on various local artists, as well as artists from all over the world, and exhibits that offer insights into our culture!

It wouldn't be an art museum with some kind of hands-on workshops to actually let kids express themselves! There are family workshops, which are free, where kids can create artwork that has been inspired by what they have seen during their time in the Long Beach Museum of Art. Entry is on a first come first serve basis, and they are held the 3rd Sunday of every month From Sept to June, then EVERY Sunday in July and August!

Not only that, Art Chat! is a fun, informal and fascinating FREE 30 minute docent-led tour every Friday at 1pm where you can do an ask questions and hear all about elements of art that might surprise you!

Art is always changing, and there is no right or wrong answer as to whether you should like it or not. It's there to be talked about - so let's go!

I went on Sunday with three of my friends. We had so much fun. We sat outside and the view was fantastic.

    We had:
    1. Spinach Scrambler
    2. Spinach Scrambler with egg whites and no cheese. Substitutions were not a problem.
    3. Kobe burger protein style - the person that had this loved it.
    4. Blackened Salmon Salad - the person that had this loved it.
    5. Banana/walnut buttermilk pancakes - the bananas were great but the pancake were a little heavy - we couldn't quite put our finger on what we didn't like about the pancakes.
    6. Banana Bread...Read More

This is a review for Claire's, the restaurant at the art museum.

It’s set on the patio with a spectacular view of the ocean. Very classy and nice place to take a date on a sunny weekend. They have a full service bar, with specialty blood mary’s. never tried it, but looked interesting and cups were HUGE. My girlfriend had the crème brulee French toast- I don’t know what makes it “crème brulee,” but was still really good and the perfect amount of sweet. I had the shrimp avocado omelette- solid choice, didn’t blow my mind, large size...Read More

Definetely not worth a visit. And not worth the money. Weak display. Walk through in 7 minutes. Avoid.

very weak collection. Minor works by minor artists at best. Do not waste your time with this one.

We look forward to going back and trying more items off the menus. Servers were pleasant and helpful.
