Yes, it's touristy (not bad, just a little). However, it was one of our favorite activities during our week. Our 6 y.o. wasn't old enough to do horseback or ATV so they let us chose 4 activities. (Jungle, Movies, Ocean and Gardens) The scheduling is done by the Ranch and they did a great job. None of our tours felt crowded. And what a fantastic location! Each activity had at least some views that were absolutely picturesque and every one of our guides were pleasant, talkative and helpful. (Fred - our fishponds & gardens tour guide - was...Read More

My Boyfriend and I heard there were Atving and he was completely sold!

did the 8 hr tour, which mean you pick 4 different excursions to attend.
There were 2 tours that we had chosen which were Very similar, so be careful with that! I wished we had did something dealing with the water but my bf is terrified of getting sea sick so we stay clear from water activities! =T

So after eating a quick breakfast at there Cafeteria we went on our first excursion which was the Jungle Expedition - It basically is this Jeep that fit about 10 people and they...Read More

The 2 hour ATV ride was well worth it! The view was amazing and the tour guide was very knowledgeable on the history of the ranch. I highly recommend it!

Cool place. Did the bus tour and saw all the movie props and areas. The WW2 bunkers were really cool. Staff was extremely friendly. Bus driver was awesome.

(Fred - our fishponds & gardens tour guide - was a HUGE hit with our son.) The information on the history of that area, and the ranch in particular, was great. And the food served at the lunch buffet exceeded our expectations. Would love to come back with our families.

My Boyfriend and I heard there were Atving and he was completely sold!

So after eating a quick breakfast at there Cafeteria we went on our first excursion which was the Jungle Expedition - It basically is this Jeep that fit about 10 people and they drive you through a couple of scenic destination ( mainly consist of Trees and some history of Hawaii) Alot of where the TV show LOST was filmed here. Beware this ride is quite bumpy-,I sat at the very end of the Jeep and as we were driving off the door swung right open- if this was during more of a bumpier trail - this would of been a pretty crazy Lawsuit!

They provide you with Lunch, I had called prior to make sure they had more than just Salad for me (since i am a Vegetarian). Sadly everything was buffet style and naturally it was not very vegetarian friendly- my bf who eats meat did not really enjoy the food very much either, he ended up eating only the fruits and salad more than anything else.

After Lunch we hopped on over to our next excursion called the Kualoa Ranch Tour, (This was the one i mentioned earlier that is Very similar to the the Jungle Expedition). So the only difference is that you sit in these Big school buses without windows and they take you to a spot where most of the movies were filmed such as: 50 first dates, Me, you & Depree, Jarrassic Park and Peal Harbor was filmed. This was all basically in ONE location ...
I personally feel the Bus tour was a little better than the Jungle Expedition, only because First, I didnt almost die and second, I was simply more interested about the movies than about trees and nature.

Horseback riding was next! Most people would enjoy this for the scenic route and the fact that the horses were well trained and knew a couple of commands! I would probably enjoy this a lot more if I didnt't discovered i was allergic to the horses- I was placed at the very end sneezy like a mainac, and watching my bf's horse poo right in front of me - what a sight!
I was however, very appreciative of the trainers that follwed behind us for helping us take some awesome scenic pictures!

Lastly it was the ATV ride! I had experince this in Thailand and when your in Asia everything goes- So Hawaii ATV was just not as grand- mainly because it was super SLOW!! Anywho- i got in trouble half way through because i was going too fast and ended up hitting the slow atv rider ahead of me! They had mentioned if we hit any other atvs we would be thrown into ATV jail and can not ride the rest of the way! ....sigh thats what happened to me because i am a REBEL - blah after the ride my whole face turned dirt brown and a visit to the restroom is a must!

Overall despite my prison sentence it was a pretty fun day, Esp if you want to have a whole days worth of things to do! =)
