About Kauai Backcountry Adventures

Before we get to the adventures, let's start with the history of Kauai Backcountry Adventures!

You see, the former Lihue Plantation still has a historic irrigation system that dates back to around 1870, and this ditch and tunnel system once irrigated cast sugar crops, but has been unused since 2000.

It just so happens that water still runs through some of the most beautiful and remote land on the island, and Kauai Backcountry Adventures has exclusive access to it, and now YOU can experience it on a super cool tubing tour!

On the tours, you can witness Kauai's spectacular, historical engineering feats as you float down the open canals, through several amazing tunnels and flumes, and enjoy the wonder and magic of each tunnel, lit by headlamps.

At the end of your adventure, you will be guided to an enchanted picnic area nearby, for a delicious lunch and a cool dip in a natural swimming hole.

The gently flowing waters, beautiful scenery, flumes and tunnels are combined for a relaxing, fun and fascinating experience, and who doesn't LOVE a good tubing adventure!

For those who want to get even more off the beaten track, Kauai Backcountry Adventures has an exclusive zipline and tubing tour, and from start to finish you will be taken on an amazing and fun-filled journey spanning seven ziplines, over 17,000 acres of former plantation land!

So c'mon kids, are you ready for some tubing fun, because we think you might be, so let the adventures begin!
