Where are we going today?

The Fick Fossil and History Museum in Oakley, Kansas shares a building with the community library. The Fick Museum is free (donations) and has a number of interesting large fossils from the area, many old tools, mineral specimens, and shell & mineral folk art. Most of the exhibits have more info about who contributed them (looks like every one in town), then about the exhibits.

It was actually a cute little museum with some very interesting artifacts collected from the Fick family and other donators. We just happened upon it and it was a nice little detour from all the driving we had to do.

Enjoyed seeing the fossils and photographs from Sternberg's excavations. The historical artifacts from the frontier stations were also very interesting.
