To avoid delays, the following routes to the Zoo are suggested: From I-71: Exit at Fulton Road, keep right at fork. Turn right on Fulton Road and follow Fulton Road/Fulton Parkway South to Wildlife Way. Turn left on Wildlife Way to Zoo entrance.

From I-90: Take I-71 South, exit at Fulton Road. Turn left at Fulton Road and follow Fulton Road/Fulton Parkway South to Wildlife Way. Turn left on Wildlife Way to Zoo entrance.

From I-480: Two options. Exit State Road north to Pearl Road and follow Zoo signs. Or, exit Ridge Road north to Memphis Avenue and follow Zoo signs.

From Akron: Two options. Take I-77 North to I-480 West. Exit State Road north to Pearl Road and follow Zoo signs. Or, exit Ridge Road north to Memphis Avenue and follow Zoo signs.

From I-80 (Ohio Turnpike): Zoo accessed from two exits. Take Exit 173 to I-77 North, to I-480 West to State Road (north) to Pearl Road then follow Zoo signs. Or, take Exit 161 to I-71 North to West 25th Street then follow Zoo signs.

Parking is Free.

One of Cleveland’s most popular attractions and foremost conservation organizations, with 3,000 animals representing 600 species. Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is a family-friendly, kid-friendly venue with outdoor and indoor facilities, educational and conservation programming and a great place for families to have adventures and make memories. The Zoo’s Education department has programming all year round for kids and families: preschool safaris, family discoveries, teen programs, summer day camps, overnight programs, homeschool programs and many, many more!

The Zoo offers something for the whole community, but we have lots of programs geared specifically for teachers and their students: • Reinforce classroom lessons in a fun, motivating atmosphere • Utilize activities based on the Ohio Academic Content Standards to plan a memorable, educational field trip • Brush up on your own science skills • Or simply fuel your personal love of wildlife and wild places (see website for more info).

The Zoo has picnic areas with picnic tables located near the Welcome Plaza, near the Primate Cat & Aquatics Building, and in Australian Adventure. You are welcome to bring in a cooler but there are no secured storage areas. Grills are prohibited..

Any Top Tips?

Tip for parents with young children: concession areas do not provide straws or lids for animal safety so you might want to bring "sippy cups" or other non-spillable containers from home. .

Need a little extra help?

All areas of Cleveland Metroparks Zoo and The RainForest are wheelchair accessible. The Zoo gift shop, Machaba Curios, in the Welcome Plaza has the wheelchairs, electric wheelchairs and strollers for rent (see website). ZooTrams are wheelchair accessible..

Baby Facilities

Bathrooms are equipped with baby changing areas. The Zoo is ADA compliant.

Can I get one of those?

We have all your favorite Zoo plush animals, logo t-shirts, sweatshirts, hats and mugs and even gifts for the green-conscious members of your family and friends, including fair-trade and organic items. .
