I love staying at the Kalahari Resort it’s a few hour drive from Chicago and the destination to be at when you are visiting the dells. I highly recommend you sign up for the email promotions and take advantage of the specials that they offer on line.My family stays at the kalahari about 6-10 times per year and we love the fact that all year around they have so many activities inside the resort, and events going on during the holidays. If you have small children I recommend that you ask to make sure that you are in the main building because it is a bit of a hike from the sands building to the resort water park with little ones. Always try to take advantage of the unlimited pass for the amusement park because your kids will defiantly get the use out of them. There are also things to do for the teenagers like, bowling, go karts, mini golf, and the movies. You will never be short of food choices they have plenty of them as well. The plus part is that everything is connected and during the cold months you don’t even need to step foot outside unless your shopping at the Tanger Outlet across the street.

My entire extended family (18 of us) went to Kalahari and stayed in the “Entertainment Villa Duplex.” It was amazing!!! Our family had people from ages 4 to 92! I was 14 years old when we went, I am 16 now. I often remember this week as the best of my life! My family is planning on going again during the summer of 2015. Our amenities were FANTASTIC! Very clean, and maids came everyday! It was raining everyday we were there but one. We had PLENTY to do with the indoor theme park and indoor water park. We went to the outdoor water park for one day and that was really fun also. My great grandparents were 91 and 92, and the super kind Kalahari people provided us with wheelchairs for them! They were able to go bowling with us and watch the great grand kids at the pool and theme park. We loved the high ropes course and GoCars. The rock climbing wall was also a hit. We never left the resort and were never bored!! These are such minor first world problems, but our only issues were these: The TVs were not high def. They were plenty big, but it was slightly fuzzy. And the only other issue was we had to re connect to the wifi every time we opened our phones. I don’t know why it didn’t just automatically connect, but it did on our laptop just not our phones. Otherwise this place was FANTASTIC! Everyone go there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its okay if you like the essence of chlorine and cheap candy wafting in the air. It is a hotel, in a touristy city, with African and safari themes. Typical conference hotel with typical conference food.
